'CODE OF SILENCE' SET FOR SCREENING IN CINEMAS THIS AUGUST!

Royal Arts Academy in conjunction with Nollywood Workshops presents the release of a new block buster movie, titled ‘Code of Silence’ which is a gritty tale of a young girl, Adanma who was gang-raped by two men one night while coming home from school.


 This singular act is the catalyst that triggers a number of catastrophic events in the film;
The movie stars an array of talented, award-winning actors such as Ini Edo, Patience Ozorkwor, Desmond Elliot. Omoni Oboli, Kofi Adjorlolo, Amaechi Muonagor, Shawn Faqua, Makida Moka etc to name a few. ‘Code of Silence’ was produced and directed by Emem Isong. Assistant Director was Chris Eneaji. Story and original screenplay was by Bola Aduwo, who was also Associate Producer on the project. Additional screenplay was by Kehinde Joseph.

ROYAL ARTS ACADEMY SET TO HOST 'SPOTLIGHT'!

Royal Arts Academy will host a short film competition themed “PROUDLY YOUNG, PROUDLY NAIJA” exclusively for Royal Arts students, past and present.

Students will be given a designated period to shoot and submit a short movie (maximum of 15 minutes) using the theme to tell an inspiring story centered around youths in today’s Nigeria.

The entries will be judged by a jury, comprising experienced screenwriters, producers, actors and directors, including Emem Isong who will pick out the ten best entries and upload them online for public to view and vote their favourite.
When the voting period closes and the winning short film known, it will be announced at the movie premiere of “Spotlight”, a movie produced by Royal Arts Academy featuring mainly its student and for which the short film contest is named.

The Spotlight Academy Awards aims to reward students of Royal Arts Academy yearly with the opportunity to have a career in the industry. It will encourage team work, creativity, diligence, competition-mindedness, and importantly in today’s youths, seriousness and focus, knowing that their effort will result in glory. It is a fabulous way to employ otherwise jobless but highly skilled young filmmakers. It will also infuse the lifeblood of youths into an industry.

‘EMEM ISONG’S ‘CHAMPAGNE’ SET TO PREMIERE IN LONDON IN APRIL!

Royal Arts Academy is happy to announce that it is collaborating with NollywoodUncut  to bring the movie,‘Champagne’ to London!  The movie is set to be screened at the 1,500 seater LIGHTHOUSE, situated at 254-270 Camberwell Rd, SE5 0DP London, United Kingdom.Shot in the cities of Johannesburg, South Africa and Houston Texas, U.S.A, ‘Champagne’ also stars Tana Adelana, Mbong Amata, Susan Peters, Padita Agu & Anita Chris.

It was produced and directed by Emem Isong. In attendance will be the stars of the film- Majid Michel, Alexx Ekubo and Mbong Amata. Other Nollywood stars attending the premiere are Susan Peters and Ini Edo.
The Event will start with a red carpet extravaganza from 6.30 pm with the screening of the movie taking place from 8.00 pm; followed immediately by a Q&A with the director, producer and stars.

‘WHILE YOU SLEPT’ SET FOR RELEASE STARRING INI EDO, JOSEPH BENJAMIN etc.

A new movie is set to be released. It’s titled ‘While You Slept’ and stars  Ini Edo, Joseph Benjamin, Bobby Michaels, Venita Akpofure, etc. The movie which was shot in Lagos is about a lady, Amaka Okoro whose life has been turned upside down when Najite, a mysterious stranger shows up claiming to be the secret wife of Emeka…Amaka’s  husband.

The movie was produced by Ini Edo, Supervising Producer was Emem Isong, screenplay was by Kehinde Joseph&  Chiji Vivians and directing was by Desmond Elliot. The Lagos premiere of the glamorous movie ‘Champagne’ was held with much fanfare at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island on December 19th. Many came to watch what was Emem Isong’s directorial debut which featuredMajid Michel, Alex Ekubo, Tana Adelana, Mbong Amata, Padita Agu etc. The movie is about a young couple who are in an open marriage and decide to scam unsuspecting people for money until they meet the enigmatic Mr Douglas who takes them on a ride of their lives.  Check out some lovely pics from the

EMEM ISONG SET TO RELEASE ROMANTIC THRILLER, 'CHAMPAGNE'!

Our CEO  Emem Isong gets set for the release of her directorial debut, the romantic thriller tiled ‘Champagne’. Always one to push the envelope, she explores the concept of an open marriage between a young couple Tare Hopewell (played by Alex Ekubo) and his young wife Champagne (Rose Zimu).  

Synopsis: The couple  date other unsuspecting people mainly for money and perks until they bite off more than they can chew when they meet the enigmatic Mr. Douglas (expertly played by Majid Michel). Suddenly this seemingly harmless game of ‘hit & run’ turns into a deadly game of high stakes where the winner takes  all. This movie marks the directorial debut of Emem Isong who also produced the work.

The movie was associate produced by Uduak Oguamanam, cinematography was by Beanca and Tom Robson on the South African end and  James Costello on the American end. NEW VIDEO: THE MAKING OF 'APAYE'

Check out the making of the multiple nominated movie ‘Apaye’! The movie was shot in some parts of Bayelsa & Rivers state and is about the challenges a mother (Mrs Irene Yepayeye Uriah) faced while trying to raise six children in the creeks of Otakeme, Bayelsa state. The movie is a docu-dram done in honour of her. It stars Clarion Chukwurah, Kanayo O kanayo, Belinda Effah, Mbong Amata etc. It was directed by Desmond Elliot and produced by Emem Isong. It got about 5 Nominations at the 2014 AMAA Awards and won one and has 10 nominations for the upcoming GIAMA Awards taking place in Houston, USA
