Royal Arts Academy has
for over 5 years, trained and equipped actors, screenwriters, editors and
directors with the skill necessary for industry success. It is now proud to present ‘Spotlight’ –
a three-pronged Youth Empowerment Initiative that comprises of the Spotlight Short Film Contest, The Spotlight
Movie and the Spotlight Movie Awards.
In the Spotlight
Short Film Contest, students of the academy who have shot short
films of not more than 10 minutes, will have ten of the best films judged by a
jury comprising of producers, actors, directors and screenwriters. The final
ten (10) films will be chosen from the lot and uploaded on Royal Arts Academy’s
YouTube page for public viewing and voting. At the end of which the winning
short film decided will be announced at the movie premiere of “Spotlight”, a feature movie produced
by Royal Arts Academy for its students and for which the short film contest is
named.
The owner of the winning
film will receive mouth-watering prizes from our sponsors.
This event will climax with the Spotlight
Movie Awards where awards will be given to deserving students who participated
in the event. It is set to take place at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road,
Victoria Island, Lagos on the 3rd of December by 5.pm. The movie
will then screen in cinemas nationwide as from the 4th of December
2015.
