ROYAL ARTS ACADEMY HOLDS EXAMS FOR THEIR 2012 BATCH ‘A’ STUDENTS.



On Wednesday July 24th, the 2012 Batch ‘A’ students of Royal Arts Academy had their final exams. The students were required to put all they had learnt into performance before a panel of judges which included:

Yinka Ogun: Renowned screenwriter and creator of the Mnet soap opera ‘Tinsel’
Doris:  Screenwriter, producer and director.
Uduak Isong Oguamanam: Screenwriter & producer who is also the Managing Director of Royal Arts Academy.
Anthony Kehinde Joseph: Screenwriter & teacher at Royal Arts Academy.



Each student performed two monologues after which their performances were appraised by the judges. Yinka Ogun rewarded a lucky student, Miriam Usifo a role on his production while Nollywood actress Uche Jombo had a talk with them where she emphasized the importance of hardwork and dedication in the quest to make it in the movie industry and that nothing good comes easy.

COMING TO DVD THIS AUGUST: 'HOLDING HOPE, KOKOMMA & BROKEN SILENCE'



Come August 2012, Royal Arts Academy will be releasing three of their latest films: HOLDING HOPE, KOKOMMA & BROKEN SILENCE.

HOLDING HOPE




Sidney Badmus is the handsome, charming playboy of a son who is the heir apparent to the Badmus vast fortunes. An irresponsible, alcoholic, Sydney’s  philandering has caused his mother Mrs Badmus a lot of sadness and concern making her take some drastic measures to  forestall the inevitable collapse of the Badmus Empire if left in the hands of Sidney.  Enter Hope, the delectable, hardworking and prudent Group Accountant. Mrs Badmus sees her as the daughter she never had and secretly schemes to make Sidney marry her. This plan is met with serious resistance from not just Sydney but his girlfriend, Sabina who will stop at nothing to see that Sydney is hers and the Badmus millions remain within their grasp.

'CATWALQ' NOW SHOWING AT NEW TIMES!

"Catwalq' the popular glamourous soap showing on TV Continental, Lagos has been moved to a new viewing time! It now shows on Fridays at 8pm every week so be sure tune in!
Catwalq stars Monalisa Chinda, Memry Savanhu, Uru Eke, Joy Scrase, Susan Peters, Desmond Elliot, Kenneth Okolie and a host of others.  It was produced by Emem Isong & Monalisa Chinda and directed by Desmond Elliot.  It was written by Bola Aduwo, Uduak Oguamanam and Rita Onwurah.

ROYAL ARTS NEWS UPDATE!


It has been an eventful year at Royal Arts Academy; New entrants, faces,budding stars and exciting productions.  Here are some of our highlights so far: 

1.    The successful screening of 'I’ll Take My Chances' in cinemas nationwide.
2.    The filming of the Royal Arts Academy Student’s soap: A perfect love.
3.    The second half of the year promises to be no less eventful.

·       I'll Take My Chances explores the age old rift between religion and tradition, the archaic and the Enlightened as seen through the eyes of two star-crossed lovers.


Kiss and Tell: Iyke, the ultimate player is the best of friends with Bernard, except when it comes to Blue Quest, the firm they run together. When Delphine, a gorgeous divorcee who has sworn of men, walks into Iyke’s life, he makes a wager with his friend to sleep with her in ten days or sell his controlling shares in the company. What Iyke didn’t bargain for, was fall for his prey.

IUdeme Mi: Ima is the only daughter of a wealthy man who indulges her a lot. When he died unexpectedly, he leaves his wealth to her on one condition: She has to be married.  To resolve the situation, she marries Asuquo who was to help her claim her inheritance. But unknown to Ima and her relatives, Asuquo had other plans.

Okon goes to School: A Sequel to Okon Lagos. After Okon, an encentric hunter wastes a fortune on wine and women, he enrols in University to study Money Management. What he doesn’t bargain for is cultism and women trouble, and what school doesn’t bargain for is Okon and his crazy antics.

PICTURES FROM THE PREMIERE OF THE SHORT FILM: SILVER LINING

On Sunday May 27, 2012 Royal Arts Academy in conjunction with the Patrick Speech and Language Center decided to celebrate 'Children's Day' by premiering 'Silver Lining' a short film on Autism. The film was produced by Emem Isong and Co-Produced by Uduak Isong Oguamanam. Screenplay was written by Rita C. Onwurah and it was directed by Tomrobson Uko.

The event was graced with the presence of some pupils of Patrick Speech & Language center and their families, well respected people of the society as well as Nollywood personalities.

The premiere was a huge success and the proprietress of Patrick Speech and Language Center, Mrs. Dotun Akande couldn't hide her joy.
